Quick answer

Choose the X-Pole XPERT Pro if you want the widest choice of finishes, a 40mm option, tool-free X-LOCK switching and easy US and UK availability. Choose the Lupit Classic G2 if you want a lighter pole (15.7 kg), a 42mm option, nickel-free chrome and a quieter, smoother spin, and don’t mind it often shipping from the EU. Both are removable, pressure-mounted poles with static and spin modes.

The two poles

Best for choice and availability
X-Pole XPERT Pro dance pole

X-Pole XPERT Pro

40 or 45mmX-LOCK6 finishes

The X-LOCK near the base switches between static and spin with a twist, no tools. Owners praise how easy it is to assemble and switch mid-session. Watch for: over-tightening the X-LOCK can make spin feel stiff, and stainless can feel slippery for weaker grip. Full details in our XPERT Pro review.

Lupit Classic G2 chrome dance pole

Lupit Classic G2

42 or 45mmQuick-LockNickel-free chrome

Lighter than the X-Pole, with a smooth, quiet spin that reviewers like. The Quick-Lock ring has safety buttons and a diamond indicator showing the mode. Watch for: you can feel the joints, the carry bag is extra, and EU shipping and duties can add cost.

Switching between static and spin

X-Pole XPERT Pro: the X-LOCK is a collar near the base. Turn it one way for static and the other for spin, without tools. Older XPERT (NX) poles use a hex key, though X-LOCK can be added as an upgrade. Lupit: the Quick-Lock version has a lock ring on the lower bearing that you release with two safety buttons and a half turn; the Standard Lock version uses a hex key. More in static vs spinning pole.

Installation differences

Both are pressure-mounted between floor and ceiling. X-Pole loads from the bottom, so you don’t need a ladder, and its manual says to centre the dome under a joist and avoid drop ceilings. Lupit’s top disc sits evenly on a flat ceiling and needs a ceiling between 2.3 m and 3.3 m without extensions. See how to install a dance pole.

Which should you buy?

  • Small hands: X-Pole 40mm or Lupit 42mm. See dance pole diameter.
  • Nickel allergy: Lupit’s nickel-free chrome, or X-Pole brass or powder coat. See pole finishes.
  • Sweaty hands: X-Pole silicone or either brand’s powder coat.
  • US buyer wanting fast delivery: usually X-Pole.
  • Lightest pole to move around: Lupit.

Frequently asked questions

Is X-Pole or Lupit better for beginners?

Both suit beginners. X-Pole is easier to find in the US and UK and has more finishes; Lupit is lighter and its Quick-Lock is tool-free. Choose by diameter, finish and delivery cost.

Can I use X-Pole extensions on a Lupit pole?

No. Extensions only fit their own brand. X-Pole extensions fit both XPERT and XPERT Pro poles of the same diameter and finish.

Which spins more smoothly?

Reviewers often describe the Lupit as lighter and quieter in spin. Spin feel also depends on your weight, grip and how the pole is tightened.

Do both come in 40mm?

No. X-Pole makes 40mm and 45mm poles; the Lupit Classic G2 comes in 42mm and 45mm.

Is Lupit chrome really nickel-free?

Lupit and its retailers sell the chrome as 100% nickel-free. That is the maker’s claim; we found no independent test.

Where are Lupit poles made?

In Slovenia. They are sold through EU, UK and US retailers, so delivery times and import costs depend on where the retailer ships from.
